Health and care providers are coming together at the Shay Stadium in Halifax to show how they’re working together to improve health and care services in Calderdale.
Members of the public and health professionals are invited to attend NHS Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group’s AGM and Healthcare Marketplace event on Thursday 8 September, from 6:30pm.
The event will include over 24 exhibits from NHS, community and voluntary health service providers, including Calderdale CCG, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Age UK, The Stroke Association and Voluntary Action Calderdale.
Dr Matt Walsh, Calderdale CCG’s Chief Officer, said: “Through our Care Closer to Home programme we are working with our partners to provide accessible health services, embedded in our local communities, and we’re doing this by working closely with voluntary and community health providers.
“The result is that we have an increasingly joined up, patient-focussed health care system in Calderdale that is keeping people out of hospital and treating them closer to home.
“This event is an opportunity for us, along with our partners, to show people who may not have first-hand involvement with local health and care services the improvements that’re being made in terms of quality, safety and value for money.”
Dr Soo Nevison’ Chief Officer of Voluntary Action Calderdale said: “It’s great to see the voluntary and community sector (VCS) being given the opportunity to present their services to the public alongside the CCG and other NHS providers.
“The VCS has been working alongside the NHS for many years to provide local services for local people.
“We hope that the current partnership working with and support of the CCG in providing services in the heart of local communities continues to grow and thrive.”
