NHS Calderdale CCG operates a parking permit scheme for staff relating to a small number of car parking spaces that the CCG leases at its headquarters at Dean Clough Mills, Halifax, West Yorkshire. 2. What are the wages and job titles of your five highest paid members of staff?
The information the CCG is required to publish concerning the above question can be found in the CCG’s Annual Report which can be accessed at the following link https://www.calderdaleccg.nhs.uk/key-documents/. With regard to the salaries of any other member of staff, the CCG has determined to apply Section 40 (2) of the Freedom Information Act with regard to this element of your request. This exemption covers the personal data of third parties where complying with the request would breach any of the principles in the Data Protection Act. Principle 1 of the Data Protection Act required that “Personal data shall be processed fairly and lawfully.” In particular, that “people’s personal data should be handled only in ways they would reasonably expect”. As the CCG is not required to publish the salaries of the staff in question, the CCG does not feel it would be “fair” or “reasonable” to those individuals to release this information.
