1. Do you have a formulary used by primary care prescribers? If so, what is the current status of nitrofurantoin and trimethoprim with respect to urinary tract infections (e.g. first line, second line, etc)
NHS Calderdale CCG does have a formulary. The formulary is a list of drugs that should be used preferentially in Calderdale. Both Trimethoprim and Nitrofurantoin appear on the formulary. The formulary does not state first or second line status. The local guideline is sometimes referred to a formulary. The link to that information is https://www.swyapc.org/primary-care-antibiotics/
2. Has the status of either nitrofurantoin or trimethoprim changed in the formulary since November 2014? If so, can you please provide the previous status(es) and details of the date(s) of change.
No, the status of either nitrofurantoin or trimethoprim has not changed on the formulary. Local guidelines have been updated in response to changes in national guidance.
3. Have you had any work plans in place with respect to nitrofurantoin and trimethoprim prescribing since 2014? If so, can you please provide documents and start date.
