NHS Calderdale CCG does not routinely fund this treatment. However, applications for funding can be made by a Clinician via the Individual Funding Requests process(IFR).

3. If funding is available – which, if any, are the criteria patients need to achieve to be considered for collagenase treatment?

NHS Calderdale CCG does not routinely fund this procedure. Requests considered via the IFR process are considered by the exceptional cases panel in line with NICE Guidance.

4. Would specific funding needed to be pre-approved before treatment could start?

Yes – as question 2 above.

5. Are you aware of how many collagen injections were administered last year in your CCG? Were there specific colleagues or hospitals that were more frequent users or widely distributed?

NHS Calderdale CCG’s IFR committee did not approve funding for this treatment during financial year 2015-16.
